How can I stop my cat from pooing and weeing in the bath? She used to use a litter tray but has stopped. :-(?
I clean the litter often enough but I have another cat so I think that might have something to do with it? I did have 2 litters but went down to 1 as only 1 was being used. I tried going back to 2 when this started happening but it made no difference!?

First, you might want to take your cat to the vet because going outside of the litterbox can be a sign of a serious problem. My cat started doing it when he had a urinary tract blockage, which is an extremely serious and potentially fatal problem.
If you determine that it’s definitely a behavioral and not physical problem, you might want to consider getting a second litterbox because sometimes cats are territorial about their litterboxes. Another thing you may want to try is a product called Feliway, it is a little expensive, but pretty effective product that helps cats to stop peeing to mark their territory.
Last thing – make sure everything she’s peed on is cleaned up super well, you might even want to consider special cleaners in order to fully remove any scent from his urine. Cats will often go back to places they’ve already urinated to urinate again if they can still smell it.
Is her litter box clean? Some cats will go on the bathroom floor or in the bathtub if their litter box isn’t clean enough.
has there been any changes in the house? furiture moved or new animals?
Sometimes the location of the litter pan can be the problem too. (close to the furnace)
or it could be your cat has a urinary track infection
Wait, are you giving her a bath? If you are, then please stop unless you are trying to rid her of fleas. When warm water is on a living animal, all that they want to do is relieve themselves. Sometimes even people do it. It’s disgusting, I know, but it just happens. However, if she’s just going to the bathroom in the bath, then here’s what you do, clean it out completely and bleach the bath. Cat’s usually go in the same spot because they’re used to it. Good luck with your kitty!
go buy new cat box and litter then place the box in the bathtub see if the cat box is used then if so try leaving it in the tub for a day or two then move it outside the tub if the cat uses it then continue to move the box until it is where you want it.Might want to get the cat looked at by a vet could be a tract infection sometimes the cool feel of the tub is soothing to the cat with a infection because it burns when they pee with a infection. the cooling feel of the tub eases the pain. just a thought.
Maybe she’s OUTGROWN her litter box? If it’s a covered box, or if it’s too small for her to poop, turn around to cover it WITHOUT stepping IN it…….then she needs a larger box ( not covered ).
I got some "storage containers" to use for litter boxes for my 11 indoor cats. They’re 23 1/2" x 18" x 15" tall. They’re large enough and tall enough that my largest cat can cover his poop and NOT "squirt" over the side…..AND, the litter stays INSIDE the box……..YEA……
I got these at Walmart ( $4 each ). They’re plastic Sterilite "totes", which are usually used for storing things like blankets, etc………but, they’re PERFECT for using as litter boxes, since they’re easy to clean. inexpensive, and BIG. My cats are very happy with their new litter boxes, and SO AM I …….
Hope this helps………Good luck.
