my cat has stopped using her litter tray to poop how can we get her to use it again?
She is 1 years old and we have had her 4 weeks now. She has always used the tray since we got her for all of her business but now she is only weeing in her litter tray and going for no. 2′s behind the TV. Not the safest or most hygenic thing for her to be doing!

Cats are like Humans.we don’t use a Toilet when it is dirty..she goes for # 2 behind the TV or anywhere else where it is clean.Try to scoop out the pee right after and ad some more litter.Cats in general only poop once a day. When the Litter Box is clean then they will use it to do # 2. You may want to think of having 2 litter boxes in your house…i do and it works..
If you see poop pick her up take her to the poop scoop it up and dump is in the litter box she should get the idea but be careful breathing or touching the poop can be very harmful to your health use gloves and keep it as far away from your face as possible.
Do you clean out the litterbox at least once a day? Many times the smell of amonia found in kitty urine will deter cats from using the box. I’ve found that bleaching the litter box out at least once every two weeks, cleaning the litter every day and replacing all the litter every 3 days helped my cats stop doing number 2 on my child’s bed.
