My cat keeps pooing on my furniture, even though his litter tray is clean, what can I do?
Also, why would he do this? We clean up after him, disinfect the chair, and even tried pepper, but nothing works, please help us with any advice you can give us.

Thanks for everyones answers, the cat litter has been replaced, its always the one we use ever since we had him 2 and 1/2 years ago. The cat is 3 years old.

Everytime u catch him pooing somewhere he shouldn’t be. Pick him up straight away and place him firmly in his litter tray and say NO! My kitten keeps weeing on certain things and it seems to be working for me. Also buy some spray that is lavender and spray your furniture.
All my cats hates the smell and my kitty is learning not to now.

This happened to me too except it was in my room and closet :p
What I did was a VERY thorough cleaning throughout the entire room and then spray febreeze or something like that around the room so the smell of themselves doesnt linger.
You also might want to try getting a new kind of kitty litter because your cat might not like the kind that you have for him/her at the moment.

When you see the kitten doing it, then pick him up and take him to the litter box and tell him a firm "NO".
I know this is going to sound gross, but i also get rubber gloves and take his poo and put it in the litter box and then put his nose close to it. He learned it within 3 days that he doesnt poop except for in the litter box.
Also try changing the litter, it could be the smell/feel of the litter. I got the Breeze Litter System and my cat loves it. It also smells better and is easier t clean it, i reccommend trying it.
