my cat had her first litter of kittens(unexpectedly) on sunday now since then she has not used her litter tray she keeps pooing on my bed or my daughters bed, we have cleaned the litter tray and even put it in the room with her and her kittens but she still chooses to use our beds she has never done this before she has always been good with using her tray but since the kittens arrived she just don’t want to use it. we are having her spayed as soon as her milk has all gone as we really didn’t want a litter in the first place but really need help with this problem now if anyone has any ideas ide be most grateful
She has a litter tray, which she uses, but also like to go outside when its warm…but…if we get rid of the litter tray to encourage her to go outside to use the bathroom everytime, she goes into a corner of the kitchen and pees/shits there…why does she want both ?
As a kitten, she was out all the time, then only recently (last 2 years or so) she’s started wanting to use both…she’s almost 12 years old if it helps..
Hey people. I got a serious issue with my cat and don’t know what else to do. Little Molly is a really shy black cat and I have 3 in total. One is the mother of 2 kittens of who we kept – So we have a little family of cats. One of the cats are scared of everything including now the mother cat. We have one litter box and where the other 2 cats will use the litter tray, one of the kittens (now coming to one year old – she about 10 months old) just will rarely use it. She preferes to lay stools in corners of walls, under beds, couches, any dark place. I’ve kept the littertray clean as possible, sprayed the "away cat" stuff which is meant to prevent this happening all around the house bar the litter tray, put her out at nights, yet still no luck. I really like her but my mum is away to get rid of her if she dont stop. Help please?
She is 1 years old and we have had her 4 weeks now. She has always used the tray since we got her for all of her business but now she is only weeing in her litter tray and going for no. 2′s behind the TV. Not the safest or most hygenic thing for her to be doing!
i have 2 cats 1male 18mths-good as gold, the other is female 9mths approx, the problem i have is she goes toilet out of the litter tray but right next to it or sometimes she will go on my dogs bed. i clean the litter every day as they both use it but nothing works, i regularly buy new litter trays but it dont make a differance, she’s been doing this ever since i got her at surposedly 9wks but she has always been small- but does anyone have advice on how to stop her doing this as its horrid now and i cant afford to kep buying new dog beds all the time as washing them makes no difference as the only other option i have is to take her to a rehoming center but i bought her for life so don’t want to dump her on them so to speak as they need the room for more needy cats. please help!
i recently got a kitten she is about 3 months old
when we first got her she used her litter tray perfectly she took to it straight away
but now she won’t poo in it, she has taken to pooing in the corner of the bathroom
what should we do?
i hav a number of cats within my household, 2 of which are mine, these are both kittens and therefore need to use the litter tray, the problem is there are 2 of the older cats that wen my back is turned will use the litter tray, everytime i hav seen this i hav grabbed them before they can do there business and put em outside, but they always find a way as soon as my back is turned.
rite i hav 2 add to this, my house does not smell, the cats mostly use there toilets outside, i dont know where u live but it is the norm to hav the cats goin outside in no way is it cruel/harmful/nasty
my cat uses the litter tray but has a wee behind my telly why is this?
my cat is 9 and he runs past his litter tray in the hall and sometimes sits and stares at it, he never did this beffore, i have not got a new tray and i keep checking it for crawlies incase thats what it is i cant tell whats wrong with him i clean the tray every day sometimes twice a day so its not dirty i have always done this everything i do is the same as it always haas been i dont know why he has changed now
This cat used the litter tray before and now wont, my girl friend wont let him out much because he went missing for a while but got him back in the end, my argument is he needs to be chucked out the house all day. i realy feel like wacking the shit out of this cat becuase of what is happening round my house. how the hell do i sort this one out, plz help me i am starting to go mental about this. Its not just that, its the fact the cat is 8 months now and should not be doing this.
Hi. I have an 18 month old cat that has always been pretty bad at using her littler tray. She originally grew up with two other cats in the house who knew how to use the litter, but she never quite learnt, sometimes she’d be good but other times she’d go outside the box. I think it may have been a cleanliness issue for her.
Lately she has gotten really bad. I left her home alone for the weekend (had a mate feed her), and when i came home i found one lot in the litter tray and about four other lots surrounding the tray. So i cleaned it up last night, put fresh litter in it and hoped for the best. When i got home from work today i found another lot on the floor, and also, get this, a pile on my freaking bed. I am almost at the end of my patience with her but as i love her dearly would like to know anyone’s thoughts or suggestions.
ive got a really big problem…my cat wont use a litter tray…ive had him 3 months and he will not use one AT ALL, hes a year old its not the litter as ive tryed changing that and he has two trays…yet he will always do hes business on my floor…ive got a new baby due in march…i cant keep him if this continues…please help me!???
what the fuck are you talking about get rid of my baby?? im 6 months pregnant you dick…why dont you go and jump infront of a train…no dumb comments please, they wont be appriciated
my problem is hes not a kitten, so i dont know if he was trained this by hes previous owner which most kittens pick it up himself..but if hes one years old i dont see how i can make him use a litter tray…it should come natural
I just bought my cat a covered litter tray. I took the door off as I was afraid this would put him off more. He sniffed all around his new tray, then he tried to get inside of it but freaked out and ran away. This happened a number of times before he decided to take a whiz while sitting on the lid…. Clearly he knows what it’s for but he just doesn’t want to go inside!!
Should I take the lid right off and just take it day by day, only adding the lid for a few hours at a time?
I NEED him to use a covered tray as he won’t bury his poop! Smelly! He also eats with his paws! Haha, I clearly picked a winner!
I would like to also add that I did not purchase said kitty litter box so I could become lazy and ignore his stinky poops. I still plan to scoop as soon as it happens!
my oldercat is not really impressed and hisses and growls. she does go out into the kitchen and sniffs around. the other day she went out whilst kitten was upstairs and licked the litter tray?? not in it the plastic on the outside? normally if i smell of the new kitten and smothe her she will go for me,but when i went to smothe her this time she gave my hand a lick?? what does this mean?
Whilst we were on holiday my cat started using a piece of carpet as his toilet. We thought it was because he was stressed as he stopped when we came back. Now he has started again. He will use the litter tray if shut in the room with it in but we dont want to keep him in one room. What can we do to get him using it again instead of the carpet?
