my cat refuses to use his litter tray as he is used to going outside to do it,
however being winter now i’m reluctant to let him out as it is just too cold he cries and scratches at the front door for me to let him out
is there anything i can do to get him to start using his tray again, the vet suggested putting soil in the tray so that its like outside, but he looks at it and cries ?
She is more or less the same size as a few weeks ago, and could use the tray perfectly fine even while pregnant and large. But since she had the kittens, she scratches the litter like normal and then stands up instead of kneeling to poo, and the feces just falls off the edge of the tray onto my floor.
Why is she doing this? I have a cat just her size who can use the tray normally and it is always clean.
I have three cats, but I only use two litter boxes because that seems to be enough.
I’ve tried all sorts of tricks to keep the litter from getting everywhere, but they never work! I had these litter boxes that were literally boxes with holes on the top, and they worked amazingly well, until the boxes started to smell like cat pee, even when the litter was clean. I couldn’t scrub out the boxes everyday, so I went back to using old litter boxes.
I try to put towels or mats under the litter boxes, but my cats pee on them because they start to smell like litter…
I have wood floor and no matter what kind of litter I use, it gets on the floor and scratches it up!
The latest thing I’ve tried has been to put the litter box in a bigger storage box, but the storage box isn’t the best size and litter still gets everywhere!
Does anyone have suggestions?
Also, please don’t tell me to do something like vacuum everyday or to wash the mats.
So sorry! I forgot to say that I’ve actually gotten TWO auto cleaning litter boxes, but they scare my cats!
And my cats are inside cats. D:
