Will my cat have forgotten how to use a litter tray?
I have had her just over a year and she used to use one. Now she only uses the garden. Next July I will be on holiday for 4 weeks and a friend will keep her indoors in their flat. But she may have forgotten her house training. The cat that is not my friend LOL.
My cat sleeps with me as well, will she get on my friend’s bed?
Here is my cat

The behavior is hard wired in the cats brain. They instinctively seek out a place to bury their business . The reasons are debated but that doesn’t matter to the cat ,give them easy access to a clean litter box and a little privacy and all is well. But your friend will need a bit more consideration for scoopin poop for four weeks! As far as sleeping with your cat , if it was your bed ,it would be hard to keep her out, whether she sleeps in your friend’s bed …..what the heck as long as they are consenting mammals !
She’ll be fine… Our cat renewed her use of a litter tray immediately after many years of using the garden… Like riding a bicycle for them!
My mom has an 8 year old cat she started out in the house than put her out for a couple of years than let her back in not too long ago and she is doing good. I think she would rather be outside but she uses the litter box like normal. She is adorable by the way.
Cats are just about the cleanest animal of all. Have you ever actually spent a day with a cat and seen how many times they wake from a sleep suddenly because they realize they have ‘forgotten’ to wash behind their ears or face. Your cat will not have not forgotten how to use the litter tray but if your friend doesnt clean it regularly (the tray, not the cat) then your cat may refuse to use it because they are very particular about cleanliness.
